Karl Theater Gießhübl
The Karl Theater is an amateur theater from Gießhübl ( Mödling district / Lower Austria ).
founding
On May 3, 1980, eight young Gießhüblers stood on the stage of the parish center for the first time and tried their hand at actors in the play "Die Zwei Halbschönen" by Franz Rieder.
The success was great, the joy of playing and working together was even greater, and so the association "Karl-Theater Gießhübl" was officially founded in a constituent general assembly on November 23, 1980 in the presence of the then mayor Rudolf Knopf. Was also involved Karl-Heinz Stummer .
The association was named "Karl-Theater" after the first name of its founder Karl Rittler - and based on the legendary Viennese model , although not with a "C".
Nine of the eleven founding members are still there with great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, the "Karl Theater" is known far beyond the district borders , an amateur theater recognized and valued throughout Lower Austria .
Game operation
The entire ensemble works on a voluntary basis . The income is used for the operation, the purchase of props, technology (spotlights, mixer, etc.), masks as well as for training and further education. Standard is a three-year training course for players and game leaders in St. Pölten (ATINÖ). In addition, various special seminars such as improvisation theater, make-up artists, dance, etc. are attended. The Karl Theater has a core of around 50 active and around 150 supporting members.
Productions
Since the founding, it has been the philosophy of chairman Karl Rittler not to concentrate on one type of theater or one author, but rather to offer the audience the broadest possible spectrum of different theater productions.
