Karl Agricola
Karl Joseph Aloys Agricola (born October 18, 1779 in Säckingen , † May 15, 1852 in Vienna ) was a miniature painter and engraver .
Life
He was a student of Friedrich Heinrich Füger , Hubert Maurer and Franz Caspar Sambach . After initial studies at the academy in Karlsruhe , Agricola was a student at the Vienna academy from 1793 and a member from 1836. He lived in Vienna until his death in 1852 and was very much appreciated in Viennese society because of his miniatures.
In 1936 the Agricolagasse in Vienna- Ottakring (16th district) was named after him. He was buried in the Sankt Marxer Friedhof .
