Karl Ausch

Karl Ausch (born December 8, 1893 in Vienna ; † June 20, 1976 ibid) was an Austrian economist , journalist and functionary of the Social Democratic Workers' Party (SDAP) and the Socialist Party of Austria ( SPÖ ).

Life

From 1927 to 1934 Ausch worked as an editor for the social democratic tabloid " Das Kleine Blatt ". As a Jew , he was forced to emigrate in 1937 and went to London, where he worked from 1941 to 1946 as an advisory member in the London office , a branch of the diplomatic mission of the Austrian Socialists . After his return in 1946 he worked until 1959 as the business editor of the " Arbeiter-Zeitung ", the SPÖ 's party newspaper . From 1952 he was a member of the General Council of the Austrian National Bank , and from 1960 to 1963 he was also on the board of the Girozentrale of the Austrian savings banks .

He was buried at the Hietzingen cemetery .
