Karl Féaux de Lacroix (born August 5, 1860 in Paderborn ; † November 12, 1927 in Arnsberg ) was a Westphalian homeland researcher who, among other things, examined the history of Arnsberg and the Sauerland .
Life
His father was the high school teacher and scientific author Bernhard Joseph Féaux . The son passed his Abitur at the Laurentianum grammar school in Arnsberg and studied classical philology . He completed the probationary year necessary for admission to higher education in Münster . He then worked as an educator in the household of a duke in Rome . In 1903 he was appointed (high school) professor. Since 1924 he lived in retirement.
Various works on local and regional history come from Féaux de Lacroix, including a guide through Arnsberg that has been reissued for decades. His story Arnsbergs first appeared in 1895. His story of the high hunt in the Sauerland and Wittgenstein is considered a standard work. He also wrote numerous smaller contributions.
