Karl Huser

Karl Hüser (born September 24, 1930 in Emsdetten ) is a German historian , teacher and author .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1951, he studied history and classical philology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and became an active member of the Ravensberg Catholic Student Association in the Cartel Association of Catholic German Student Associations . In 1959, during the clerkship and several years as a teacher , he worked at the school Dionysianum in Rheine . In 1963 he switched to the Johann-Conrad-Schlaun-Gymnasium in Münster and became a senior teacher .

After a few years as a grammar school teacher , he turned to teacher training , was from 1969 senior teacher in higher education at the PH Aachen and in 1973 became a university professor for didactics of history and Westphalian regional history at the comprehensive university , today Paderborn University in Paderborn . He gained national recognition through the documentation Wewelsburg 1933–1945 - Cult and Terror Site of the SS . Since his retirement in 1995 he has been working as a book author on local history topics.
