Karl Heidmann

Karl Heidmann (born September 23, 1889 in Preußisch Eylau , East Prussia , † November 12, 1946 in Lübeck ) was a German actor and director .

Life

After finishing school, Karl Heidmann studied at the universities in Berlin and Munich . Later he had a long time engagement as an actor and most recently as a senior director at the Lübeck Municipal Theaters . He also worked as an acting teacher and taught his son Manfred and Günther Lüders , among others .

Karl Heidmann also worked in various film productions from 1936 . He played in Robert Koch, the fighter against the death of Hans Steinhoff with Emil Jannings , Werner Krauss and Hilde Körber from 1939 and 1941 in Quax, the Bruchpilot by Kurt Hoffmann with Heinz Rühmann , Karin Himboldt and his son Manfred. He was also in the 1941 National Socialist propaganda film Heads up, Johannes! by Viktor de Kowa with Klaus Detlef Sierck , Dorothea Wieck and Gunnar Möller , which today can only be shown as a reserved film under strict conditions.

He also published as an author in 1916 Walhall's End. A fairy tale for adults .
