Karl Gustav Konrad (born November 26, 1881 in Jutroschin , Rawitsch district , Posen province , † December 13, 1958 in Kiel ) was a German high school teacher and writer. He is remembered as a student historian.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1902, Konrad studied philology at the Silesian Friedrich Wilhelms University in Breslau. At the Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Berlin , he was in 1910 with a theater history work of the Dr. phil. PhD. As an unmarried teacher, he was entrusted with many deputies and led a restless life for a long time. After Fraustadt in West Prussia and Preussisch Friedland in the border region of Posen-West Prussia , he came to Breslau , where he stayed for a long time. In the post-war period in Germany he lived in Graefenthal (Thuringia) and Surendorf (Schleswig-Holstein). After a long period of suffering, he was admitted to the Kiel Municipal Hospital on December 13, 1958 , where he died of a heart attack on the same day.

The drama has a lot to thank Konrad. He dealt with folk play , radio play , puppetry and amendment . He translated from English and French . He found access to student history as early as 1902 when he published additions to Friedrich Kluge's German student language . For many years he published the Breslauer Hochschul-Nachrichten . His book and picture collection became the property of the Association of Old Corps Students , so that it was not lost at the end of the war and the loss of Silesia. Konrad's visual studies of the German student system is still considered a standard work today.
