Life

After attending school, Karl Nägeles trained as a sculptor in the Müller studio in Saulgau , followed by positions in Paderborn and at the art schools in Nuremberg and Horb . Years of education followed in Karlsruhe and Überlingen (there in the studio of the brothers Eugen and Victor Mezger; formerly the art workshop of Josef Eberle ) before he became self-employed in 1908 as a co-founder of the Güntert and Nägele studio in Sigmaringendorf . The art workshop was operated from 1913 on Bahnhofstrasse in Sigmaringendorf, where up to twenty people were temporarily employed. In the 1920s, the artist community separated and Karl Nägele continued to run the art workshop in what is now Bahnhofstrasse 21.

Karl Nägele was buried on June 19, 1949 in the Sigmaringendorf cemetery.

His large church cribs are in Burladingen , Haslach (Rot an der Rot) (twelve crib figures), Jungingen and many other places.
