Karl Wolfrum (born August 14, 1856 in Schwarzenbach am Wald ( Hofer Land ), † May 29, 1937 in Altdorf near Nuremberg ) was a German composer , organist and professor .

Life

Wolfrum comes from a family of cantors in Upper Franconia , his father Johann Heinrich Wolfrum was a cantor and teacher. His older brother was the Privy Councilor and Professor Philipp Wolfrum . After his training at the Bamberg teachers' seminar and at the Royal Music School in Munich with Joseph Rheinberger, he was employed as a preparation teacher in Neustadt an der Aisch . In 1895 Wolfrum became a professor and prefect at the Royal Teachers' College in Altdorf near Nuremberg. He also worked as an organ expert.
