Karl von Flemming (politician)

Karl von Flemming , also Carl von Flemming , (born March 11, 1872 in Benz , Cammin district , Western Pomerania ; † March 17, 1938 in Berlin ) was Fideikommissherr in Basenthin , also in the Cammin district, and lord of Leussin near Wollin and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Flemming, a younger son of the Hereditary Land Marshal and Prussia. Deputy Hasso Graf von Flemming-Benz (1838–1896) from the Pomeranian noble family Flemming and the Else Freiin von Steinäcker (1847–1934), attended high schools in Treptow and Wernigerode from 1884 to 1893 . In 1893 he joined the Uhlan Regiment No. 9 as a flag junior , was a lieutenant in the same regiment until 1896 and in the Guard Cuirassier Regiment from 1896 to 1899. Later he was captain of the reserve. He was Fideikommiss owner of the Basenthin estate . In 1900 he married Carola von Ploetz (1880–1971), with whom he had two daughters and two sons. From 1902 he was a member of the district council of the Camminer circle and a member of the Pomeranian Chamber of Agriculture. Flemming was a legal knight of the Order of St. John .

From 1912 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Stettin 7 ( Greifenberg , Cammin ) and the German Conservative Party .

From 1926 to 1933 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Pomerania for the constituency of Cammin and the German National People's Party (55th to 62nd Provincial Parliament); from 1927 to 1930 and 1932 he was chairman of the provincial parliament (56th to 59th and 61st provincial parliament).
