Karlhans Finally
Karlhans Endlich is a German physiologist and anatomist. Since 2005 he has been director of the Institute for Anatomy and Cell Biology in Greifswald.
Life
Finally, starting in 1981, studied medicine at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . After graduating and gaining a license to practice medicine, he studied physics in Heidelberg from 1987 to 1993 . As a research assistant and employee at the Physiological Institute (1988–1995), he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. As a graduate physicist, he was employed in Heidelberg Physiology in 1993. After doing research at the University of Strasbourg from 1996–1998 as a fellow of the German Research Foundation and the Société Française d'Hypertension Artérielle , he qualified as a professor in 1998 in Heidelberg for physiology . His teaching license was extended to anatomy and cell biology in 2002 . He refused the appointment of the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel to its anatomy chair in 2005 . On the other hand, in the same year he accepted the call to the University of Greifswald as the successor to Jochen Fanghänel . He was a board member and president (2013/14) of the Anatomical Society . He has been Vice Dean of the University Medical Center Greifswald since 2012 .
