Karlheinz Schweitzer
Karlheinz Schweitzer (* 1954 in Ober-Mörlen , Germany) is a writer, photo artist and literary translator.
Life
1976 after the Burggymnasium in Friedberg Schweitzer studied applied linguistics in Germersheim . 1979–1994 he studied ethnology , cultural anthropology , Turkish studies , Slavic studies , Romance studies and Eastern European history in Frankfurt am Main . Schweitzer has been working as a literary translator since 1995 . In 2003 he moved to Hungary and worked there as a writer and literary translator. There he was also head of the culture department at the weekly newspaper Pester Lloyd , as a literary translator, editor and writer at the magazine for Hungarian culture Három Holló / Drei Raben and as editor of the weekly newspaper Neue Zeitung . These media also published his short stories and columnar articles. Schweitzer's photographs were presented in Budapest , Berlin and Glauburg .
power
In 1992 Schweitzer came across the Mongolist of the 18th century, Johann Jahresig . He began research, corresponded with scholars in the United States and Russia . Schweitzer reconstructed Jahresig's curriculum vitae and found that Jahrig is one of the fathers of Tibetology . The manuscript “The Beginnings of Tibetan Writing and Language Teaching”, written in 1792 , was only discovered in 2009 by the journalist Alexandre Sladkevich, who ran the small publisher edition zinkund with Schweitzer , in a Russian archive. This confirms Schweitzer's thesis from his book "Johann Jahresig und seine Zeit - Ein Büdinger researches with the Mongols" that Jahresig wrote a Tibetan grammar 42 years before Sándor Csoma .
