Karlsruhe is a municipality ("city") in McHenry County in the US state of North Dakota . In 2010 the place had 82 inhabitants and an area of 2 km².

The place experienced a dramatic population decline of about a third between 2000 and 2010.
After the 2000 census, the place had 54 households and 32 families with 121 inhabitants. The population density was thus 60.5 inhabitants per square kilometer. Children and adolescents under the age of 18 lived in 15 (27.8%) households. 50% of the population were married.
In 2010 there were only 36 households and eight households had people under the age of 18 with a total of only 82 inhabitants.
history
The inhabitants are descendants of German emigrants who emigrated to Odessa on the Black Sea around 1809 . About 70 years later, their situation deteriorated so much that they emigrated from there to the United States in North Dakota. There they founded settlements that they named Mannheim , Strasbourg , Alsace , Rastatt , Worms or Karlsruhe . The place was founded in 1912.
