Karolina Riemen-Żerebecka (born August 19, 1988 in Tuchów ) is a Polish freestyle skier . She starts in the ski cross discipline .

Career

Riemen began her sports career as an alpine ski racer . From 2004 to 2007 she mainly competed in FIS races . In February 2006 she became Polish junior champion in slalom and giant slalom. After the 2006/07 season she switched to the freestyle discipline of ski cross. She drove her first World Cup race on January 12, 2008 in Les Contamines , which she finished in 21st place. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , she finished 16th. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season she came in tenth place in San Candido for the first time among the top ten in the World Cup. In the further course of the season two top 10 results followed and at the end of the season the 13th place in the Ski Cross World Cup. At the season highlight, the 2011 World Championships in Deer Valley , she was sixth.

In the following season 2011/12 Riemen achieved 16th place in the Ski Cross World Cup. Her best placements were fifth in Bischofswiesen and Grindelwald . In the 2012/13 season she achieved five top 10 results in ten World Cup starts, including third place in Åre . At the end of the season, she finished eleventh in the Ski Cross World Cup. At the 2013 World Championships in Voss , she was tenth. In the 2013/14 season , she finished in the top ten seven times in the World Cup and, as in the previous year, reached eleventh place in the Ski Cross World Cup at the end of the season. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she finished 15th.

Riem's ​​best World Cup result in the 2014/15 season , which she finished in tenth place in the Skicross World Cup, was fourth in Arosa . At the 2015 World Championships on Kreischberg , she took tenth place. In the 2015/16 season she completed twelve world cup races. She achieved three top 10 placings and at the end of the season she was eleventh in the Ski Cross World Cup. In the following season 2016/17 she achieved nine top 10 placements in the World Cup, including second place in Arosa.
