Karoline Pichler (born October 30, 1994 in Bolzano ) is an Italian ski racer from South Tyrol . She is particularly successful in the giant slalom discipline and also drives super-Gs and descents .

biography

Pichler comes from Petersberg in the municipality of Deutschnofen . At the age of 15 she took part in FIS races from December 2009 . She achieved her first victory at this level in January 2011. A month later, she won the silver medal in giant slalom at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Liberec . In April 2011 she became Italian junior downhill champion. In the European Cup , Pichler was first used in December 2011, in January 2012 she won European Cup points for the first time. At the Junior World Championship in Roccaraso in 2012 , she won the silver medal in the team competition . In April 2012 the second national junior championship followed (in the giant slalom discipline).

During the 2012/13 season, Pichler was able to establish herself in the European Cup, with her first podium on January 17, 2013 with third place in the downhill run from St. Anton am Arlberg . She made her debut in the World Cup on December 28, 2012 in Semmering , where she was eliminated in the first run of the giant slalom. During the 2013/14 season there were no podiums in the European Cup, but she won the giant slalom silver medal at the 2014 Junior World Championship in Jasná . In December 2014 she won two European Cup giant slaloms in a row in Hemsedal , and on December 28, 2014, she took 23rd place in the giant slalom in Kühtai and won her first World Cup points. Two weeks later, she had to end the season prematurely due to a meniscus damage in her knee.

In 2019 she took part in the East Timorese Alpine Ski Championships .
