At Karlsburg Castle she married the lieutenant of the Guard Corps Georg Werner von Arnim in 1871 , who died in 1881 after a long illness. In the following years von Arnim lived in Potsdam and devoted himself to raising her five children. In 1889 she married the brother of her first husband, Hermann von Arnim-Muskau, on whose estate in Muskau she lived from then on. Her parents died in 1889 and 1894, respectively, and von Arnim was also hit by the death of two brothers, who processed these losses in songs and poems, among other things.
