Kaspar Sigismund von Lüttwitz (born December 6, 1732 in Mittel-Dammer (near Steinau (Oder) ), † March 8, 1796 in Łowicz ) was a Prussian major general and chief of infantry regiment No. 42 .

Life

origin

His parents were the heir of Mittel-Dammer and Bronau, Kr Guhrau, Karspar Siegmund von Lüttwitz (* April 25, 1693 - July 29, 1748) and his wife Anna Johanna Eleonore Helene von Frankenberg and Ludwigsdorf from the house of Hünern (* 16 June 1697).

Military career

Lüttwitz came in 1750 as a private corporal in Infantry Regiment No. 31 of the Prussian Army . There he became an ensign on October 9, 1752 . During the Seven Years' War , he was on May 8, 1757 second lieutenant , and on July 27, 1760 First Lieutenant . After the war he was promoted to staff captain on June 11, 1765 and on August 31, 1767 captain and company commander . On November 17, 1778 he became a major and as such took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession . On March 24, 1786 he became regimental commander. At the revue in Breslau on August 25, 1787, he received the order Pour le Mérite . On June 5, 1788 he became lieutenant colonel and on August 24, 1790 colonel . On December 29, 1794 he was appointed chief of the 42nd Infantry Regiment and shortly thereafter was promoted to major general on January 4, 1795. On November 24, 1795, he and his regiment were brought to the garrison near Lowicz, where Lüttwitz died on March 8, 1796.

Lüttwitz married Maria Theresia Friederike von Lüttwitz on October 4, 1769 in Kriechen (* June 9, 1747; † February 6, 1801). The couple had the following children:

  • Juliane Wilhelmine (born January 11, 1772) ⚭ January 4, 1801 Christian Heinrich von Borwitz, lieutenant, master of Pasterwitz

  • Heinrich Ernst Bogislav (born October 13, 1784; † June 2, 1835), major - is adopted, takes the name Frankenberg-Lüttwitz in 1816 , inherits Fideikommiss Bielwiese ( Steinau (Oder) ) ⚭ Klara von Thielau (born August 4, 1800 ; † 1862)
