Kateřina Cachová (born February 26, 1990 in Ostrava , ČSSR ) is a Czech heptathlete .

Athletic career

In 2005 Kateřina Cachová took part for the first time in a major international event, the World Youth Championships in Marrakech , where she was eleventh. In 2006 she was 15th at the Junior World Championships . In 2007 she secured the gold medal at the Junior World Championships in her hometown of Ostrava with a new world junior year high of 5641 points . Two years later she secured the silver medal at the Junior European Championships . 2010 was her first participation in the European Championships in Barcelona, ​​which she finished in 17th place.

In 2011 she won the silver medal again at the U23 European Championships in Ostrava. Just a few weeks later, she won the bronze medal at the World Student Games and qualified for the World Championships in Daegu, South Korea , where she was 21.

After a break of several years, she took part in the 2016 World Indoor Championships in Portland , where she finished eighth. At the European Championships in Amsterdam in July 2016 , she finished sixth. With her performance, she also qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, where she finished 24th . At the 10th TNT Express Meeting in Kladno, Czech Republic, she improved her record by 9 points to 6337 points and thus qualified for the World Championships in London.

She is also multiple Czech national champion in heptathlon, long jump and in the 100 meter hurdles.
