Katharina Drasdo
Katharina Drasdo (* 1985 in Düsseldorf ) is a German designer, artist and lecturer at the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences .
Life
Katharina Drasdo studied communication design at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and philosophy at the Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf . She studied in Wuppertal with Uwe Loesch , Bernhard Uske and Jürg Steiner , among others , with whom she later also worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Interior and Exhibition Design.
After graduating, she has been working independently with her design studio Drasdos - Form Follows Us in Düsseldorf since 2011, which she radically repositioned together with her father Hagen Drasdo in 2015. The studio's work focuses on branding , corporate design , exhibition design , temporary architecture and new media .
Katharina Drasdo has been teaching experimental design, brand development and temporary architecture at various universities in Germany since 2009. Experimental design has been taught at the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences since 2015.
Katharina Drasdo has won numerous national and international awards for her designs and temporary architecture, including the 100 Best Posters , the Red Dot Design Award , the if design award and the German Design Award . Her work has been exhibited in various museums and exhibition halls, including the Museum for Communication Frankfurt, Museum Folkwang Essen, Museum for Applied Arts (Vienna), designforum Vorarlberg (Dornbirn), the Zurich University of the Arts , and the Korea Foundation Seoul.
