Anette Schmidt

Anette Schmidt (* 1966 in Tauberbischofsheim ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been Mayor of Tauberbischofsheim in the Main-Tauber district in northeast Baden-Württemberg since September 1, 2019 .

Life

Anette Schmidt worked from 1989 to 1994 as a registrar and land registry manager as well as in the council service of the Werbach community. In 1994 she switched to the municipal supervision of the State Office of Saxony in Leipzig , where she worked until 2002. From 2002 to 2012 she worked as treasurer and branch manager of the administrative association Kist with the member communities Kist and Altertheim . Between 2013 and 2015, she worked as a department head for municipal supervision in the district office of the Main-Tauber district before she decided to switch to politics in 2015 and run as a candidate for mayor for the community of Großrinderfeld.

On April 26, 2015, Anette Schmidt, who ran unopposed, was elected mayor of the community of Großrinderfeld with 97.8% of the votes . She became the first female mayor in the history of the Main-Tauber district, which comprises 18 communities.

In the Tauberbischofsheim mayoral election on June 30, 2019, Schmidt achieved the best result in the first ballot with 39.3 percent of the votes. The previous incumbent, Wolfgang Vockel , then announced on July 3 that after a 24-year term as Tauberbischofsheimer mayor, his application for the second ballot would be withdrawn. In the second ballot on July 14, 2019, Schmidt was elected mayor of Tauberbischofsheim with 46.4 percent of the vote. Until the end of August, Schmidt was still the mayor of Großrinderfeld. On September 1, 2019, she took office as Mayor of Tauberbischofsheim.

Anette Schmidt is Roman Catholic , has three children and lives in Tauberbischofsheim.

Her son Lars Schmidt played at BSG Chemie Leipzig since the 2016/17 season , most recently in the Northeast Regional Football League .
