Barbara Katharina Landgraf b. Mühlbach (born February 24, 1954 in Kirchengel / Thuringia, GDR ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After high school in 1972 in Borna Katharina Landgraf graduated the Meliorationswesens at the University of Rostock , which she in 1976 as a graduate - engineer ended. After that, she worked as an engineer for water management and environmental protection in the VEB lignite kombinat active in Borna. From 1980 to 1990 she finally worked in the LPG (P) Wiederau- Zwenkau .

From 1991 to 1999 Katharina Landgraf was a research assistant at the Bildungswerk Leipzig and from 2004 to 2005 at the Bildungswerk Dresden of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation .

Katharina Landgraf is Protestant , married and the mother of four children.

Political party

In 1988 she joined the GDR CDU . From 1991 to 1993 Katharina Landgraf was deputy chairwoman of the CDU regional association in Saxony and from 1991 to 1995 also the Saxon regional chairwoman of the women's union . She has been a member of the CDU district board of Leipziger Land since 1990 and was also chairwoman of the district association there from 1995 to 2002.

Katharina Landgraf was a member of the GDR's first freely elected People's Chamber from March to October 1990 and was also one of the 144 MPs elected by the People's Chamber who became members of the German Bundestag on October 3, 1990 . She was a member of the Bundestag until December 1990.

She was a member of the Saxon state parliament from 1999 to 2004 and has also been a member of the Pegau city ​​council since 1995 and was a member of the district assembly from 2004 to 2014 , most recently in the Leipzig district.

Since 2005 she has been a member of the German Bundestag again, where she is a member of the German-Korean parliamentary group.

Katharina Landgraf has entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Leipzig-Land constituency . In the 2005 Bundestag election it achieved 34.9 % of the first votes , in the 2009 Bundestag election 41.7% and in the 2013 Bundestag election 51.3% . She is a full member of the Committee on Family, Seniors, Women and Youth and Food and Agriculture .
