structure

The highest decision-making body of the foundation is a board of trustees, which consists of members of the provincial government of the province of Germany and the general government of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Elizabeth .

The representation is carried out by a management.

history

Since 1842 the congregation of the Sisters of St. Elizabeth developed in Neisse / Silesia . Since Catholic religious orders in Protestant Prussia were not given legal personality at that time, the Superior General Maria Merkert founded the Catholic Charity for St. Elisabeth (KWA) on January 8, 1864 in Neisse. She took over the legal representation of the sister community. After the Elisabeth Sisters cared for wounded soldiers with great dedication during the Danish war , the Prussian King Wilhelm I granted the KWA its corporation rights on May 23, 1864 . This made the KWA a legal person.
