Katie Ormerod (born August 25, 1997 in Brighouse ) is a British snowboarder . She starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Ormerod has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2006 . Until 2011 she mainly competed in national competitions. In the 2008/09 season she came in slopestyle at the Burton AM Tour in Bispingen in third place, in Val Senales in second place and in Castleford in first place. In January 2011 she came second in the Slopestyle at the Burton European Junior Open in Laax . The following year she took third place in slopestyle and second place on the halfpipe at the Burton European Junior Open in Laax . She made her World Cup debut in January 2013 in Copper Mountain , which she finished in 43rd place in slopestyle. That same month, she was tenth in slopestyle at the 2013 Snowboard World Championships in Stoneham . At the 2014 Junior Snowboard World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco , she won the bronze medal in slopestyle. In April 2014 she won the Slopestyle at the Völkl World Rookie in Ischgl . At the beginning of the 2015/16 season she won in slopestyle at the Pleasure Jam in Schladming . At the Winter X Games 2016 in Aspen , she was sixth in slopestyle. In February 2016, when she finished ninth in the Big Air in Boston, she achieved her first top ten placement in the World Cup. This was followed by fourth place in the World Cup in the Bokwang Phoenix Park in Pyeongchang and second place in the Big Air in Québec and in the slopestyle in Špindlerův Mlýn . After finishing fifth in slopestyle at the Burton US Open in early March 2016, she finished seventh in big air and sixth in slopestyle at the following Snowboard World Championships in 2016 in Yabuli . At the Spring Battle in Flachauwinkl she came second in the Slopestyle and finished the season in fifth place in the Slopestyle World Cup and third in the Freestyle World Cup and in the Big Air World Cup. After finishing second in slopestyle at The Mile High in Perisher and at the Pleasure Jam in Schladming at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, she came third in Big Air in the Alpensia World Cup , second in Copper Mountain and took him Moscow won their first World Cup. She finished fourth in the Freestyle World Cup and second in the Big Air World Cup. At the Winter X Games 2017 in Aspen , she won the bronze medal in slopestyle. She also finished fifth there in Big Air. In February 2017 she took second place in Air & Style in Innsbruck and in November 2017 in Big Air at the World Cup in Milan .

In the 2019/20 season, Ormerod won the Slopestyle World Cup with three third and two second places. She also achieved fourth place in the Big Air World Cup and second place in the Freestyle World Cup.
