Katrin Kunert

Katrin Kunert MP (* 6. April 1964 in Wolmirstedt , DDR as Katrin Neubert ) is a German politician ( The Left ).

Life and work

After attending the Polytechnic Oberschule (POS) Arendsee , Katrin Kunert initially trained as a cattle breeder at VEG Bretsch -Priemern from 1980 and then studied at the agricultural engineering school in Stadtroda from 1982 , which she completed in 1985 as an agricultural engineer (FH) for animal production . She then worked as a local brigadier at LPG (T) Arendsee until 1986 . From 1986 to 1990 Katrin Kunert was head of the district commission of Jugendtourist , the travel agency of the FDJ in Osterburg .

From 1991 to 1992 Katrin Kunert completed retraining to become a florist and worked in this profession in Osterburg until 1997. In 1998 she moved to the constituency office of the member of parliament Helga Paschke .

The non-denominational Katrin Kunert is married and has one son.

Political party

In 1982 she became a member of the SED . In 1990 she was deputy PDS district chairman in Osterburg.

Katrin Kunert has been a member of the PDS district executive in Stendal since 1998 and the PDS federal executive since June 2003.

MPs

From 2005 to 2017 Katrin Kunert was a member of the German Bundestag . In 2005 it entered the Bundestag via the Saxony-Anhalt state list . Here she became the local political spokeswoman for the left-wing parliamentary group .

In the 2009 Bundestag election on September 27, 2009, she was elected to the Bundestag as a direct candidate with 33.4% in the Altmark constituency (constituency 67). In the 18th Bundestag Kunert was a full member of the Defense Committee and chairwoman of her parliamentary group in the Sports Committee .
