Keibul Lamjao National Park

The Keibul Lamjao National Park is a protected reserve for the conservation of the threatened Manipur lyre deer from the genus of the lyre deer .

The national park is located in the Indian state of Manipur south of its capital Imphal and covers an area of ​​approx. 25 km².

Landscape and vegetation

Numerous rivers and watercourses cross the landscape of the national park, whose other landscape is characterized by marshland. Before the area was declared a national park, these swamps were drained for agricultural use. In addition to the lyre deer, Indian leopards and various water birds live in the reserve .
