Keion Eric Carpenter (* 31 October 1977 in Baltimore , Maryland ; † 29. December 2016 in Miami , Florida ) was an American American football poker players on the position of the safeties . He played seven years for the Buffalo Bills and the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Carpenter went to high school in Baltimore County , Maryland. He then went to the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University .

NFL

Carpenter was signed by the Buffalo Bills after the 1999 NFL Draft . He stayed here for three seasons before moving to the Atlanta Falcons in 2002 . On November 24, 2002, he scored the first and only time in his career a touchdown after an interception in the game against the Carolina Panthers .

Carpenter was one of the few football players who managed to make a comeback in the NFL after undergoing spinal fusion , a surgical procedure in which vertebral bodies are stiffened to give the spine full strength.

Carpenter had three daughters and one son.

death

On December 28, 2016, while he was on vacation with his family in Miami, Florida, Carpenter fell while playing with his son, bumping his head. Then he fell into a coma. He died a day later.
