Keith ( Gaelic : Baile Chè or Baile Cheith ) is a small town in the Scottish Council Area Moray on the banks of the River Isla , a tributary of the Deveron . It is just off the A96 , which connects Aberdeen to Inverness . Keith is connected to the rail network with its own train station. In 2011 there were 4734 inhabitants.
Keith is located in the important Speyside whiskey region and is currently home to four active whiskey distilleries : Aultmore , Strathisla , Strathmill . and Glen Keith . With Glentauchers there is another distillery in Mulben, less than ten kilometers away .
From Easter to the end of September, the Keith and Dufftown Railway runs on weekends between Dufftown and Keith .
