Keolis Nederland BV is a local transport company in the Netherlands . The company was founded by Nederlandse Spoorwegen , Connexxion and Keolis , each with a third share. After the exit of the other two shareholders, the company is wholly owned by Keolis. Keolis Nederland currently operates various bus and train networks that have been won in tenders.
Surname
Until 2017 the company was called Syntus. This stood for “ SYN ergie tussen T rein en b US ”, which means something like synergy between train and bus. From now on, the company operates under the name Keolis Nederland , which is intended to make the reference to the parent company Keolis clear.
Lines
Keolis Nederland operates passenger services on the Zutphen - Oldenzaal railway line . LINT 41 vehicles from Alstom are used.
Bus routes are operated in the Achterhoek and in the west of the Twente region , and from the end of 2017 also in Almere . With the timetable change in December 2017, the company will take over the Sprinter connections Enschede - Zwolle and Zwolle - Kampen from the Nederlandse Spoorwegen and use new electric FLIRT vehicles here.
Former lines
The services on the Arnhem - Winterswijk and Zutphen - Winterswijk routes were handed over to Arriva in December 2012 .
Until a few years ago, Keolis Nederland operated a cross-border bus route between Doetinchem , 's-Heerenberg and Emmerich am Rhein . In the meantime, NIAG has taken over cross-border operations between Emmerich am Rhein and 's-Heerenberg.
From December 10, 2005 to June 2006, a railcar operated between Arnhem and Emmerich am Rhein on Saturdays and Sundays. The trial operation, which was planned for two years, was terminated prematurely after the Dutch side withdrew funding.
From December 2010 to December 2013 Keolis Nederland operated cross-border local transport ( Grensland Express ) on the Almelo – Salzbergen railway between Hengelo and Bad Bentheim every hour in cooperation with the Bentheimer Eisenbahn . The attempt was limited to three years. It ended in December 2013 as the number of users fell short of expectations.
