Kerem Tunçeri (born April 14, 1979 in Istanbul ), often called "Keko" for short , is a former Turkish basketball player . His position was that of point guard .

Career

Kerem Tunçeri began his career in the youth of Galatasaray Café Crown , where he was finally taken on in 1996, when he was only 17 years old. He celebrated his first success in 2000 when he won the Turkish Presidential Cup. At the end of this season, the point guard moved to Efes Pilsen Istanbul , with whom he could win three championships from the 2001/02 to 2003/04 season , and he also won the Turkish Cup in 2001 and 2002. In 2004 Tunçeri moved to Ülker Istanbul , with whom he was able to win the cup again in his only season. In 2005/06 he was named Player of the Year for Beşiktaş Cola Turka . In the summer of 2006 he finally moved to Spain, to Real Madrid , and won the Spanish Championship and the ULEB Cup in his first season . In 2008 he moved to Triumph Lyuberzy in the Russian Superleague , but returned to Efes Pilsen in early 2009. After the 2012/2013 season, he moved to Türk Telekom in Ankara. After a year in Ankara, he returned to Beşiktas, where he also stayed for a year. After a season at Acıbadem Üniversitesi SK Tunçeri ended his career in 2016.

National team

Kerem Tunçeri took the national team to the basketball European Championships in 1999 , 2001 , 2003 , 2005 , 2009 and 2011 , and the 2002 FIBA World Championship , the 2010 FIBA World Championship and the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in part. In addition to winning the silver medal at the 2001 European Basketball Championship in his own country, his greatest success was winning the silver medal at the 2010 World Basketball Championship against the USA, also in his own country.
