Heartland
Heartland is a political term and usually designates the dominant and politically decisive state in an often multi-ethnic group of surrounding different (also partially autonomous ) states, regions or provinces . Conceptually related, sometimes synonymous, the word " motherland " is sometimes used instead of the heartland .
