Keulos is a district of the large community of Künzell in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

geography

Keulos, as a district of Künzell , is also a village on the outskirts of Fulda and thus the interface between the city and the Rhön , which begins directly behind Keulos. Keulos borders Künzell in the west, Lanneshof in the north, Wissels in the east and Pilgerzell in the south.

history

Keulos is first mentioned as a place in 1212. It is said that two brothers, Kadolaches and Wizelaches founded Keulos and Wissels. Around 1840 Keulos is about the same size as Dirlos and Künzell and of the same type - one manor, a few farms and several dependents as day laborers, coachmen, etc. for the manor. That is why Keulos was given the school location - centrally located - in 1843. The place grew very slowly in the following years and cannot be compared with Dirlos and Künzell in terms of population size. In 1972 Keulos had 322 inhabitants, today there are around 460. On December 31, 1971 Keulos was incorporated into the municipality of Künzell.

As a well-known personality - at least in the Fulda district - Johannes Rehm can be named, who was born in Keulos in 1790 and was the father of the composer Anton Rehm. The Rehm family was known throughout the area as musical.

societies

The only association is the Keulos volunteer fire brigade .
