Wissels is part of the municipality of Künzell in the Fulda district in East Hesse .

Geographical location

Wissels is located on the Haune east of Künzell. The federal highway 458 leads north past the place. Neighboring communities are Böckel in the north, Dipperz in the east, Wisselsrod in the southeast , Dirlos in the south and Keulos in the west .

history

Wissels is mentioned for the first time in 980. In 1980 the place celebrated its 1000th anniversary.

Reorganization

Wissels was incorporated into the municipality of Künzell on December 31, 1971 during the regional reform .

religion

Wissels has a small Catholic. Church " St. Sebastian and St. Roch " ordained is. It was in 1954 benediziert and has 120 seats. The church is a branch church of the parish church of St. Margareta , Margretenhaun .

The patronage day is January 20th.

The baroque altar from the old church in Wissels was integrated into the current church. Today's altar table was made from wood.
