Kevin Kantee (born January 29, 1984 in Idaho Falls , Idaho , USA ) is a Finnish - American ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Valpellice in Serie A1 since October 2011 .

Career

Kevin Kantee began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of Jokerit Helsinki , for whose professional team he was active in the SM-liiga from 2003 to 2007 and was runner-up in 2005 and 2007. As a youth player, he had previously been selected in the sixth round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft as the 188th player in total by the Chicago Blackhawks , for whom he never played.

After he had finished the 2006/07 season at TPS Turku , he played for two years for their league rivals Ilves Tampere before he was signed for the 2009/10 season by the reigning Finnish champions JYP Jyväskylä . For the following season, the former Finnish junior international signed with HDD Olimpija Ljubljana from the Austrian ice hockey league . For the 2011/12 season , the defender agreed on a contractual relationship with HC Valpellice from Serie A1 .

International

For Finland , Kantee took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2002 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2004 .
