Kim Verner Andersson (born August 21, 1982 in Kävlinge , Sweden ) is a Swedish handball player .

Career

Andersson was considered one of the greatest talents in the right back space of Swedish handball in the early 2000s . The heavily courted player signed a three-year contract with THW Kiel in the spring of 2003 . Kim Andersson could choose when he wanted to leave his former club IK Sävehof . He stayed in Sävehof for another season to further his personal development. In 2005 Kim Andersson moved to THW. With the zebras he won the EHF Champions League three times, the German championship six times, the DHB Cup five times and the DHB Supercup four times . After knee surgery in April 2010, Kim Andersson had to take an eight-month break and did not return to work until December 2010. In the summer of 2012, a move to the Danish association AG København was planned. However, after he had to file for bankruptcy in July 2012 following the withdrawal of major investor Jesper Nielsen and Andersson was without a club, he joined KIF Kolding in August 2012 . Since the 2015/16 season he has been under contract with the Swedish first division club Ystads IF HF .

Andersson made his debut for the Swedish national team on June 18, 2001 against Greece . Since then he has appeared 240 times and scored 824 goals. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he won the silver medal with the Swedish team and was elected to the All-Star team. He also took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
