Kim Andreas Ekdahl Du Rietz (born July 23, 1989 in Lund ) is a former Swedish handball player .

Career

Ekdahl Du Rietz started playing handball in his hometown. He also made his debut for the local first division club LUGI HF in 2005 - at the age of 16 - in the Swedish elite series . In the summer of 2011, the left back player joined the French first division club HBC Nantes . For the 2012/13 season he moved to the German handball Bundesliga to the Rhein-Neckar Löwen . In 2013 he won the EHF European Cup with the lions . In 2014 he reached the Final Four in the DHB Cup and was German runner-up . In the seasons 2015/16 and 2016/17 he was German champion with the Rhein-Neckar Löwen. He ended his career after the 2016/17 season. In March 2018 he made his comeback with the Rhein-Neckar Löwen. In 2018 he won the DHB Cup with the lions . From summer 2018 he ran for the French club Paris Saint-Germain . With Paris he won the French championship in 2019 and 2020. After the 2019/20 season, he ended his career again.

He played 96 caps for the Swedish national team . At the 2008 European Championships in Norway, the 2010 European Championships in Austria and the 2011 World Championships in Sweden, he was only part of his country's extended squad. At the European Championships in 2012 , he finished twelfth. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he won the silver medal with Sweden. At the 2014 European Championship in Denmark, he finished seventh and, with 25 goals in six games, the best thrower of his team.
