Kim Song-gun (born May 27, 1991 ) is a North Korean ice hockey player .

Career

Kim Song-gun represented North Korea in the junior division at the 2010 U20 World Cup in Division III.

He made his debut as a 21-year-old at the 2013 World Cup in Division III for the North Korean national team . Also in 2014 he was on the ice for the East Asians in the lowest division. In both tournaments, the North Koreans missed promotion to Division II by only one place in second (2013 behind South Africa and 2014 behind Bulgaria ). In 2015 he played with the East Asians again in the lowest division of the World Championships. This time he returned to Division II with a 4-3 win after extra time in the decisive game against hosts Turkey . There he played at the World Championships in 2016 , 2017 , when he led the North Koreans onto the ice as team captain, and in 2018 .

At club level, Kim plays for Pyongchol in the North Korean ice hockey league and was North Korean champion with the club in 2010, 2011 and 2014.
