Kim Wall's Disappearance and Death

UC3 Nautilus with Peter Madsen in the tower (2008)

For an interview with the Danish designer Peter Madsen, Kim Wall boarded his self-built submarine UC3 Nautilus on the evening of August 10, 2017 . Madsen and Wall were last seen in the tower of the submarine around 10:30 p.m. According to the conviction of the investigators and judges in the subsequent criminal case against Madsen, Wall was handcuffed, tortured, sexually abused, murdered and dismembered by Madsen. Wall's torso was found on August 21, 2017 on the shores of the island of Amager , south of Copenhagen near the Køgebucht. The forensic medical analysis showed that the head and limbs had been deliberately severed. 15 stab wounds were found on the torso. In October and November 2017, divers found the head, arms and legs that had been severed from the torso and items of clothing where corpse tracking dogs had struck. The skull showed no fractures or blunt injuries.

On June 1, 2018, Kim Wall was buried in Trelleborg in the presence of her family and a few confidants.
