Works

In his work, Kim Yusob endeavors to further develop Abstract Expressionism . Religious, philosophical and anthroposophical matters flow into the creation process of his paintings. Much is left to chance, as Kim sees his art as a seismogram of his inner world: the basic material of his pictures is a difficult-to-define, liquid mass, which he describes as “physical primordial matter” and the material of his creation. In this way, the works of art are already present in the material before the actual painting act. Kim only promotes them to days. This teleological definition of matter, reminiscent of Aristotle (as found in Michelangelo or Edwin Landseer ) is characteristic of him. There are also roots in Daoism and the I Ching . It achieves a special effect through a special technique of delaying drying, which further emphasizes the materiality of the color mass.
