action

The FBI agent Zack Reed and his partner Agent Sanders have been trying unsuccessfully for years to pin down gang boss Zogu. He's out on bail a year after his arrest. The process should take place shortly. But the witness is on the FBI's witness protection program , which has just been hacked. The sensitive data is on a USB stick that the negotiator has hidden from his brother, a kindergarten teacher at an elite school. When he dies in a car accident, Zack and his partner only have one choice: Zack goes to the school's kindergarten disguised as an educator and tries to find the USB stick.

The actually simple mission turns out to be extremely difficult for the inexperienced Zack, who is also not familiar with the liberal ecological worldview of children and their various allergies. A peanut butter sandwich triggers a mass panic and when he gives chocolate to the children on his debut, he loses control of his group. Only his colleague Olivia bailed him out. When Sanders finally started teaching Reed, he got along better and better with the children. Although the USB stick remains hidden from him, he has a romantic experience with Olivia.

As the situation just got better, the FBI team got in the way of Zogu, who was also able to find out where the USB stick is. Zack clears the school and they start looking for the USB stick. When he finally solves the riddle of his predecessor and finds out that the USB stick is in the same time capsule that his protégés are about to dig in the garden of the sculptures, Zogu enters the scene and captures Zack, Sanders and Olivia. During a showdown in the garden of sculptures and with the active support of the children, Zack Reed succeeds in arresting Zogu and securing the USB stick.

background

Rumors of a sequel to the 1990 classic comedy have already appeared several times. In contrast to the first part, however, the film was produced directly for the DVD market and was created under considerably more cost-effective conditions. The film was produced by Universal 1440 Entertainment, a subsidiary of Universal Studios . Directed by Don Michael Paul, who also directed sequels to the films Jarhead ( Jarhead 2 - Back to Hell ) , Lake Placid ( Lake Placid 4 ) and In the Land of Rocket Worms ( Tremors 5 - Bloodlines ) . The script was written by comedy writer David H. Steinberg ( American Pie Presents: The Book of Love ) . The film was shot mostly in Vancouver .

The film was released on DVD and Blu-Ray in the United States on May 17, 2016. A German-dubbed version followed a week later on May 26th, 2016. It also premiered in Germany on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Reviews

The film failed to convince its critics and, according to the critics, failed because it emulated the first part. Both the action sequences and the humor of the film are disappointing. Also noticeable is the intrusive product placement for the Twix candy bar , which saves Zack Reed's life twice in the film, as well as the taxi company Uber , which reaches the crime scene faster than the FBI. In addition, the film suffers from the not very funny attacks on political correctness . This is how Christoph Petersen writes from the Filmstarts editorial team:

“After reading a picture book (…) the old school FBI agent first gives his six-year-old students an angry incendiary speech against this liberal propaganda. But, despite the promising starting position, such gags are only a rare chance hit. The script is lousy, so are the actors - and most of the punchlines are on the level of the FBI boss who wets himself in the urinal because he pees on the cell phone. (...) Conclusion: With the exception of a few successful swipes at the excesses of modern child-rearing, disappointing. "
