Bjørnås, who started for the IL Varden , appeared internationally for the first time at the Junior World Ski Championships 2000 in Štrbské Pleso . There she won the bronze medal with the relay. She was also seventh over 15 km classic and sixth over 5 km freestyle. She made her debut in the World Cup in March 2000 in Oslo , which she finished in 39th place in the sprint. In December 2000 she started in Orsa for the first time in the Continental Cup . She won the classic 10 km race. In March 2001 she got her first world cup points in Oslo with 29th place over 30 km classic. At the U23 championships in 2002 in Val di Fiemme , she took third place in the 15 km mass start race and second place in the skiathlon . In the 2003/04 season she came in the points 12 times in the World Cup and thus finished 39th in the overall World Cup. At the beginning of the 2004/05 season she won her first and only World Cup victory with the relay in Gällivare . In the further course of the season she reached 13 places in the points in the individual World Cup. She also took third place with the relay in Lago di Tesero and second with the relay in Falun . At the season highlight of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf , she achieved 30th place in the 30 km mass start race, 27th place in the sprint and 25th place over 10 km freestyle. She finished the season in 27th place in the overall World Cup and in 19th place in the Distance World Cup. In March 2006 she achieved her best individual placement in the World Cup with seventh place in the skiathlon in Sapporo . In the 2006/07 season she came with three top ten results, including first place over 10 km freestyle in Vuokatti , seventh place in the overall standings of the Scandinavian Cup . At the Tour de Ski 2006/07 she came 17th. She was ninth in the skiathlon in Oberstdorf. She completed her last international race in February 2008 at the Scandinavian Cup in Sundsvall , which she finished in seventh place over 15 km freestyle. At Norwegian championships she won over 30 km in 2005 and in 2008 together with Marthe Kristoffersen in the team sprint. Together with the season of IL Varden, she was four times (2002, 2004, 2005, 2008) Norwegian champion.
