The script was written by Gene Markey and Harry Tugend, based on a story by Viña Delmar. The adaptation is by James Seymour. The premiere of the film took place on January 3, 1936 in the USA.

Kerry Bolton, a burlesque theater producer, is given the chance to direct a Broadway theater. With his loyal singer Pat Doran he made the breakthrough and became successful and famous. Due to the success he got into high circles and married the society lady Rosalind Cleve, who dreams of her own theater career. She convinces Kerry to produce a few pieces with her as the actress, all of which flop. Offended, Rosalind divorces Kerry. Pat, who had traveled to England to get married, returns to New York after disappointment. She gathers her burlesque colleagues together, and together they put something on their feet that will put Kerry back on the road to success.
