Jonaswalde Church
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jonaswalde is located in Jonaswalde in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia . The parish Jonaswalde belongs to the parish Thonhausen in the church district Altenburger Land of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
history
Before the Reformation there was a chapel built around 1400 here . She was looked after by the parish in Nöbdenitz , which belonged to the Archdeaconate Pleißenland in the diocese of Naumburg-Zeitz . It belonged to the parish of Nischwitz from the introduction of the Reformation in the Principality of Altenburg until 2006 and has been part of the parish of Thonhausen since then.
Nothing has been written about the origins of today's church, the choir tower was built on the foundations of the Gothic chapel. The church in Jonaswalde was renewed in 1663, its interior renovated in 1670 and the tower enlarged in 1683. 1745 the present church and the tower were in the style of Baroque built.
Building description
The small hall church has a retracted choir on a square floor plan. The choir tower was an eight- floor is placed, on which a slate roof curved hood sits, of an open lantern is crowned. The tower clock has been in the dome since 1763 . In 1785 the hood was covered with slate . In 1882 the interior of the church was renovated. The pulpit was attached to the side above the altar . A painting in oil print and a candlestick in nickel silver were procured for the altar . In the same year, the extension for the portal in the southeast was completed. In 1904 the white paint in the interior was renewed by painting.
In 1767 the organ builder Johann Friedrich Faust built an organ with 8 registers , divided into a manual and a pedal . However, it had significant shortcomings, so that it was dismantled again in 1818.
In 1857, the organ builder Christoph Opitz built a new organ with 13 registers, divided into two manuals and a pedal.
