Lumpzig Church

description

The church in the village burned down in 1802. A location on the outskirts in connection with the landscape was chosen for the new church, since the romantic neo-Gothic architecture endeavored to stage architecture in connection with nature. The neo-Gothic hall church , built in 1829/30, has a narrow church tower in the west, a wide nave and a polygonal 5/8 choir . The nave is covered with a gable roof, the choir with the 5th / 8th part of a tent roof . The ground floor of the tower and the choir have groin vaults . The nave has two-storey galleries and is covered with a wooden flat ceiling. The sacristy in the north and the south box were separated. The winged altar from 1487 comes from the parish church in Großbraunshain , which was demolished in 1829 , and was restored in 1980. The shrine has carved figures of Maria , St. Leonhard and St. Sebastian . The wings are painted with pairs of saints. The organ with 16 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1835 by Johann Gottlob Mende .
