The Protestant Church Mildenitz is a half-timbered church from around 1720/1730 in Mildenitz , a district of the town of Woldegk in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The church belongs to the provost Neustrelitz in the parish of Mecklenburg of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany .

location

The main road leads from the south-west in a north-easterly direction through the village. In the historic center of the village, the Schlossstrasse branches off to the southeast and leads to the Mildenitz manor. The church stands south of this junction on a plot of land with a church cemetery , which is enclosed with a wall made of reddish bricks .

history

At the beginning of the 18th century a previous building already existed in the village, but in 1722 it had to be demolished except for the church tower . The church was built around 1720/1730. The painting probably took place in 1733. In 1760, craftsmen added a new church tower to the building. In 1999 the parish carried out the first maintenance work, including an emergency securing of the building. In 2001 the roof and the tower were renovated; In 2004, interior work followed. A curtain painting was exposed behind the altar and the beamed ceiling was renovated.

Building description

View from the west

The structure was essentially made of a wooden framework , the compartment of which was made with reddish bricks. It rests on a circumferential base made of uncut and not layered field stones . The choir is straight and has not moved in. On the east side there are two simple, tall rectangular windows, which are supplemented by two significantly smaller windows in the gable .

The nave has a rectangular floor plan. A small sacristy is built on its north side , which also has a rectangular floor plan. It can be entered from the west through a door and otherwise only has a small wooden opening on the north side in the gable. On the further north wall of the nave are two tall rectangular windows, which are supplemented by a narrow window in the western area. The south side is largely identical. In the eastern area is a small vestibule that can be entered from the south through two gates. The nave, sacristy and vestibule have a simple gable roof .

The church tower connects to the west. It is only slightly drawn in opposite the ship and only has a gate on the south side. The lower storey also consists of half-timbering, the area above is boarded up. It goes into the kinked tower helmet, which ends with tower ball , weather vane and star.

Furnishing

The baroque pulpit altar is described in the Dehio manual as "simple". Like the white and blue painted stalls, it dates from the time the church was built. A sacristy door, which according to an inscription was made in 1733, belongs to the other church furnishings .

On the western gallery is an organ that Ernst Sauer built in 1853. A bell from the 14th century hangs in the tower. It is adorned with internal drawings and decorative lines and has the strike note g1-6. In capitals you can also read: " AVE MARIA GRACIA PL (E) NA DOMINO ".
