description

The first church was built in 1619 and a steeple was only added in the mid-1720s. It stood a little closer to the Schmalkalde . The first bell procured in 1730 was not hung up until 1843. In 1871 the Schmalkalde broke its bank; the church suffered so much property damage that it had to be demolished.

Today's small hall church was built on the instructions of the Duke of Saxony-Meiningen in a different, safe place made of yellow bricks in 1899/1901 in the neo-Romanesque style . It has a retracted choir tower that supports a double slate-covered pyramid roof . The Palas of Wartburg , the Church as a model. Its architectural style and church furnishings are all of one piece.

The interior has a flat vault . The triumphal arch and the choir are painted with scenes from the New Testament . The colored choir windows showing the resurrection of Jesus Christ come from the previous building. The organ with 17 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1900 by Gottfried Hildebrand.
