Roda Church (Ilmenau)

The hall church , which is covered with a gable roof , has a retracted rectangular choir , which is also covered with a gable roof. In the north is the church tower . Construction began in 1573 and was completed around 1630. The eight - sided slate - covered top of the tower, which has a hood with a lantern sitting on it, was built after 1696, as were the windows and the portal on the north tower, which has an arch with diamond blocks . The church was renovated in 1894. Support pillars were added to the west and the church furnishings were renewed. The interior of the church has two-storey galleries and is covered with a wooden barrel vault. The pulpit from the 18th century is located in the gallery above the altar .
organ
The organ is opposite the altar and was built by Adam Eifert in 1887 . It has ten registers , divided into two manuals and pedal , and mechanical cone chests. The last renovation was in 1993/1994, and the organ was restored in 1999.
