Kiril Michailow Wascharow ( Bulgarian Кирил Михайлов Въжаров ; born February 18, 1988 in Sofia ; † April 18, 2009 ibid) was a Bulgarian ice hockey goalkeeper .

Career

Kiril Wascharow began his career as a hockey player in the youth of HK Slavia Sofia , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Bulgarian ice hockey league in the 2004/05 season and with which he became Bulgarian champion for the first time in 2005 and runners-up in 2006. In 2008 and 2009 he won the championship and trophy double with his team.

On April 18, 2009, Vasharov and a friend were attacked and fatally injured outside a nightclub in Sofia.

International

For Bulgaria , Wascharow took part in the U18 Junior D World Championships in 2004 , 2005 and 2006 , and the U20 Junior D World Championships in 2005 , 2006 and 2007 . He was also part of the Bulgarian squad at the C-World Championships in 2008 and 2009 .
