Kirsten McAslan (born September 1, 1993 in Manchester ) is a British sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run and also competes in the 400-meter hurdles .

Athletic career

In 2011 McAslan took part in a major international event, the Junior European Championships in Tallinn , for the first time , and won the gold medal there with the British 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 25.29 minutes. In the individual competition over 400 meters, she was eliminated in the first round with 54.16 s. At the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow , she failed with the Scottish team in the run-up to the 4 x 400 meter relay . The following year she was eliminated from the semifinals at the European Indoor Championships in Prague over 400 meters in 53.49 s and won silver in 3: 31.79 min with the relay behind the team from France. In addition, she was able to win the gold medal at the U23 European Championships in 3: 30.07 min with the U23 relay before Poland and Russia. In the individual competition she was fifth in 52.33 s. At the World Championships in Beijing , she contributed to winning the bronze medal through the British 4 x 400 meter relay with her commitment in the run-up.

In 2018 she again took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where she finished sixth with the Scottish team in 3: 29.18 minutes. In August, she reached the semifinals in the 400-meter hurdles at the European Championships in Berlin , in which she was eliminated in 57.33 s.

In 2015 McAslan became British indoor champion in the 400-meter run.
