Kissing Candice is an American metalcore band from Long Island , New York, founded in 2012 .

history

Kissing Candice was the beginning of 2012 as a solo project of the former Dr. Acula - keyboardist Joey Simpson in Long Iceland established. With producer Jeremy Comitas he recorded the EP Murder and decided to form a full-fledged band from the project. With Walter Dicristina, Tommy Sciro, Mike Grippo and Michael Pak, two guitarists as well as a bassist and a drummer joined them. In the meantime, Dicristina has been replaced on guitar by Nig Suffront.

Shortly after the band line-up solidified, the band was invited to open the band Slipknot on both days of the two-day Knot Festival . In the summer of 2013, the group toured with Snow White's Poison Bite and Farewell, My Love by the United States before the musicians moved into the studio to record the successor of Murder -EP einzuspielen. The new work was released in December 2013 in the form of an EP and is called Conjured . The group accompanied Bam Margera on selected concerts on his North American tour. In 2014, the group toured extensively, playing with acts like Combichrist , Dance Gavin Dance and Capture the Crown before signing the band to Victory Records at the end of the year .

At the end of June 2015, Blind Until We Burn, the group's debut album, was released via Victory Records. Concert tours with Twiztid and appearances at the Mayhem Festival in the States followed. By mid-2016, Kissing Candice had toured with greats like Aiden , It Lies Within and Scare Don't Fear . In 2016 the group played at The Gathering of the Juggaloos by the horrorcore crew Insane Clown Posse , who were impressed by the band and invited them to perform at their Hallowicked and Canadian Juggalo Weekend festivals.

After a label change to Chris Fronzak 's Stay Sick Recordings label , the EP Safe Word was released in November 2017 .

music

According to the self-description on the band's website, the musicians mix different styles of music with each other. The band combine metal with hardcore , industrial and electronic music to achieve a cinematographic effect. The songs sound like Slipknot in their times as far as Iowa , the middle Korn and Limp Bizkit . Every now and then the singer uses spoken chant . In addition, the musicians are increasingly working with breakdowns and a bit of deathcore rhythm. Some elements of Synth Rock are also recognizable.

Occur

The musicians wear masks that are reminiscent of Slipknot in their music videos and at their concerts.
