Location of Klüting in Wuppertal

Klüting , also called Schmalenhäuschen , was a court in the former town of Ronsdorf , which is now part of the Bergisch metropolis of Wuppertal . Today the place is a desert .

Location and description

The location was in the north of the city of Ronsdorf at 305 meters above sea level on the Schmalenhofer Bach at the foot of a ridge called the Scharpenacken . The area of the yard was last part of the former eponymous site training area .

history

Klüting was mentioned in a document as Schmalenheusgen in 1710 . The farm was part of the Erbschlö family in the Lüttringhausen parish of the Beyenburg office in Berg . After its founding, it later belonged to the parish of Ronsdorf.

In 1929 Ronsdorf was merged with other cities and municipalities to form Wuppertal. In 1936, the area around Klüting was rededicated as a training area for the newly built Wuppertal barracks as part of the National Socialist armament and the old courtyards, including Klüting, were cleared. Klüting was between Delle and Schmalenhof directly on the northern edge of the former Diedenhofenkaserne. Until the 1970s, the buildings were used for military exercises and then demolished.
